NUO is as soft as leather and supple as fabric – made from real wood, vegan and sustainable. The pleasant feel and the beauty of the material fascinate immediately.
NUO consists of high-quality veneer that comes exclusively from sustainable forestry. The thin real wood (0.5 mm) is bonded to a textile backing and then lasered. The fine engraving gives the wood surface its flexibility. If desired, the material can be covered with a protective layer of varnish. The backing material gives strength and ensures that NUO is easy to process.

EVOLUTION
Nature
Wood is one of the most valuable natural products. Every tree and every type of wood has its own individual characteristics and shows the traces of evolution. Carefully hand-selected veneer and excellence in high level wood processing are the basis for an innovative material with incredible softness, a luxury look and an impressive texture. The result is NUO.
Sustainability
NUO is characterized by its claim to sustainability. The processed wood comes exclusively from sustainable forestry which is managed ethically and with respect for the whole ecosystem. This also means that the origin of wood can be traced at any time. NUO is environmentally friendly and 100% animal free. NUO reduces the kg CO² emitted into the atmosphere by about 60% compared to a square meter of leather.
Innovation
The innovation lies in creating a completely new material out of wood that is hugely soft and flexible. NUO is a patented material made from thin sheets of wood which are bonded to a cotton textile backing using an environmentally friendly adhesive. Micro laser cutting turns selected woods into a unique soft material experience.
